The bulk of the Ferro group is quick-release couplings: the components that make connecting or disconnecting a tool or attachment on a pressurised line a matter of seconds. On the pneumatic side they are used for air tools and blow guns, on the hydraulic side for machine attachments.
Couplings always work as a pair: a body (female) on one side and a plug (male) on the other. Which one is needed must be stated explicitly when ordering — «1/4 quick coupling» on its own points to two different parts. On hydraulic couplings, the capped type keeps dirt out while disconnected.
A test point serves a different purpose: it stays permanently in the line and lets a gauge be connected while the system is running, without draining oil. It is the cleanest way to measure pressure during fault-finding.
